Don’t Gopher McCain

Posted May 28th, 2008 by Playtah

This election, please don’t vote for John McCain.  Pretty please.  Pretty, pretty please.  I don’t say this for political reasons (though now I think of it, I’m not voting McCain for those reasons, too).
No, the reason I ask you not to vote for him is that I heard a clip of him speaking on NPR […]

Raincheck Days and Wednesdays Always Get Me Down

Posted May 21st, 2008 by Playtah

My friend “L” is one of the most down-to-earth, level-headed, straight-forward people I know.  She is very knowledgable about a wide range of subjects, and anything she doesn’t know, she researches studiously.  When she makes choices - whether it be about food, shopping, life decisions, etc. - they are always well-informed and well-researched.

Fun Dilbert Widget!

Posted May 13th, 2008 by Playtah

I’ve added a Dilbert comic viewer to my site (thanks for the widget, Scott Adams!)- if you scroll down the page on the right-hand side, you’ll see it.  Dilbert is one of my all-time favorite comics, and perhaps it will become yours, too!  Scott Adams is the author of Dilbert, and also has a blog […]

Ah, yes, Cinco de Mayo.  The day when Americans celebrate some sort of event that probably happened someplace south of Texas, and had something to do with mayonnaise.  Many people will use this holiday to get ridiculously drunk and eat too much Taco Bell.  It’s kind of like a spicy St. Patrick’s day.
Me?  I think […]

The World’s Gone Crazy

Posted May 5th, 2008 by Playtah

This business with the cyclone in Myanmar reminds me of the 2004 tsunami and Hurricane Katrina - it seems like the death toll goes up each time you hear about it.  First, 351 people had been reported killed by the cyclone.  Then the toll jumped to 3-4,000.  Now they think that over 10,000 may be […]

Welcome to the Grand Re-Opening!

Posted May 2nd, 2008 by Playtah

I’ve got a spiffy new design, a caffeine-imbibing squirrel, and the determination to update my blog more often!  What a trifecta!   Hopefully I will be able to win back your readership after my semi-hiatus.  Let me know how you like the look!
