Hey, Wendy. I say, since some are born more privileged than others - like smarter - like richer - like livin' in a better neighborhood - like having a loving mom & dad - like having good neighbors - I say, let this democratic government help the kids w ith health insurance. God just might bless it. Fran (this is "a tad" after the fact, but I'm kinda catchin' up)

Playtah, Playtah, Playtah,

Since when do people making $65,000 a year need my tax dollars to help them with their medical bills? I am not against helping people who NEED help, but I like to be able to do it VOLUNTARILY. I don't like the idea of the government sticking an automatic weapon in my face and taking money that does not belong to them for the purpose of giving it to some schumk who won't get off his couch and get a job so he can feed his own kids.

After all, it is the job of the church to care for the widows and orphans (one-legged or otherwise) not the federal government. I would ask you to show me where in the Constitution it gives the federal government the authority to be the nation's sugar daddy? If the State wants to implement a welfare system, then let them have the little round things to actually tax the people of their own State to pay for it. At least then the people will have a better say in what such a program would look like and who it would cover. I get tired of keeping my thermostat at 62 degrees while some welfare king or queen keeps theirs at 78 because our tax dollars are paying for it. Although, to be honest about it, I prefer 62 degrees over 78 degrees, but that is not the point.

Well, it is a Saturday and I have to work so that I can pay those taxes so all the little darlings whose parents make $65,000 can have the health care they so dearly need but are unwilling to pay for for themselves. Have a great weekend.
