Wisdom of the Generations
This is a story my Dad told my sister and I when we were little. It’s gotten me through some hard times.
Once upon a time, there was a little boy. He was a normal little boy in every respect, except that he had been born with a gold screw in his bellybutton. The kids at school always teased him about this, and he grew very weary of their taunts.
While walking along the beach one day, the little boy looked up and said, “God, I just don’t understand why I have this gold screw in my bellybutton! I wish it wasn’t there!”
Suddenly, a giant hand with a screwdriver descended from heaven and took out the golden screw.
Then the boy’s butt fell off.

funny. My dad just handed me a shovel and said that hard work builds character. Maybe that’s where all the voices come from.
