The Bull’s Not Raging Anymore
Finally, it was time.
I got up and looked out the window. The snow had fallen earlier and coated the ground and trees. A beautiful scene.
I sat back down on the couch. In the next 10 seconds, I would yell. I just didn’t know if it would be a happy yell or an angry yell.
“And the Oscar goes to…”
I closed my eyes.
“…MARTIN SCORSESE.”
It was late, but I yelled. Happily.

FINALLY! A couple decades late in any case. My only dissappointment was that Pan’s Labrynth didn’t win for best foreign film. Gonna have to watch the German film that won and compare.

’bout freakin’ time he won that! The Academy is so screwed up sometimes.

Yeah, baby!
We also yelled REALLY loud when Al Gore’s incredible documentary won (as it should have!) and Melissa Etheridge’s incredible song for that documentary won (as it should have–but after all the overblown “Dreamgirls” stuff I was afraid it wouldn’t–I’ve seen more of “Dreamgirls” now than I ever want to again!)
Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong show, though…..I got home from work a few minutes ago and I am so wiped out! But totally worth it.

I couldn’t sleep anyway with my cold. Every time I would nod off I would start to sneeze, cough or my nose would run. I watched the entire thing.
I thought that the dance troupe (the one behind the screen) was amazing. Ellen was fantastic too. Did you see her white pimp shoes?

Andy - I still need to see Pan’s Labyrinth. I take it you liked it.
minijonb - I hear ya!
Beth - Yeah! Al Gore rocks. I haven’t seen the documentary yet, but that’s great that it won.
Rach - That sucks that you couldn’t sleep because you were sick, but it’s nice you got to see the Oscars! And no, I don’t remember Ellen’s pimp shoes! The dance troupe was amazing.

Beth,
Wow! You praised two people directly related to the Democratic party. What a shocker.
Once again, where does your vast film knowledge come from?

I’ve dragged everyone I could to see Pan’s Labrynth. It’s as close as I’ve ever seen to a Brother’s Grimm fairy tale as a movie. Dark, strange, and beautiful. Can’t wait for the dvd. gotta se the behind the scenes on that one.

The show was way to freakin long but Scorsese’s win was almost worth the wait.
Love seeing Alan Arkin win too.
Beat the hell outta the Grammies. The Police do a ONE-SONG commercial and announce a reunion tour the next day. I looked forward to them all day and never saw them again.
Fargin’ Ice-holes.
