The Roof, the Roof is on Fire
I was driving home from work yesterday when I noticed a plume of smoke in the distance. Curious, I decided to check it out. (Don’t worry–it wasn’t my apartment.) I followed the smoke and saw that it was coming from an apartment complex (I later found out that it was abandoned.) I decided to go home and get my camera because really, how often do you get the chance to take a picture of a fire like that?
Once I returned with my camera, I found that they had blocked off the road near the apartments. No matter. I parked in a store parking lot and walked the block or so to where they had the “Do Not Cross” tape spanning the road. As I was standing there looking over the tape, the wind blew it down. So I stepped over it and took a nearby walking path that ran alongside the complex, separated by only some trees and a fence. The fire wasn’t what I would call huge, but I could see the flames. Below are some pictures, and links to the short videos I took with my phone.

Sorry, couldn’t resist…when I read what Rachel wrote, the song Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar just popped into my head.
Wendy, I’m sure you could do a little something more with it then I did but hey, I’m NOT the one planning on making a living being funny so there!
