The Road To Hell Is Paved…Less Frequently

Posted July 11th, 2006 by Playtah

I hate road construction.  I love the benefits of it, but I hate the inevitable backups that come every summer.  Didn’t they just pave that road last year or the year before?  I mean, c’mon…we can launch humans into outer space or transplant a heart, but we can’t find a material that lasts more than a year or two on the roads?

While lamenting about this to one of my friends, she informed me that they DO have more durable material, but they don’t use it because it would eliminate so many jobs.  I don’t have documentation to support this, but supposing this IS true, I have a solution: legalize prostitution.

Yes, you heard me right.  I call it my “Intercourse for Interstates” plan.  Here’s how it works:  The government legalizes and regulates prostitution (prostitution already goes on anyway, legalization and regulation just make it safer for the prostitutes and provides more tax revenue).  With all the new tax money, we can offer great tax incentives for large corporations to come to Michigan, which creates jobs.  Then we don’t have to worry about the jobs that will be lost when we use more durable road materials, and I won’t have to sit in traffic for quite as long every summer.

They sure do have a better material. It is asphalt mixed with ground up rubber from old tires. Kill two birds with one stone. Get rid of the tire piles and reduce road construction.
They don’t use it because it would eliminate jobs, but seriously, how many miles of roads are there in the US? You can’t tell me that it wouldn’t take a couple of generations to re-surface all of those roads. Then there will be new road construction and I am sure that after 50 years even these roads will need repairs.
Gotta love burocracy at work. Oh…wait..!

Your idea is great!!! Take it one step further… Once all the roads switch over, all the out of work construction workers should try life as pimped out streetwalkers = ; - )
