Memorial Day Weekend

Posted May 31st, 2006 by Playtah

Since it’s almost the weekend again, here’s a little update on last weekend. Friday night Rachel and I drove down to Lansing, and I did some stand-up for the “Comedy Clash”. I did ok, but there are many places I can improve. There were several guys from GR there, and they invited me to the open mic nights at Dr. Grins at the Bob here in GR. So I’m going to get some more material together and give it a go.

After that, Rachel and I went to see “The DaVinci Code”. The movie wasn’t as controversial as the book. In the movie, Tom Hanks’ character seems at times to defend Christianity somewhat, which did not happen in the book. The movie’s ending also definitely deviated from the book. But it was entertaining.

Saturday, Rachel and I went to her neighbor’s barbecue. Sunday, Rachel, Devon and I went to the beach, and Monday we hung out by the pool. I finally got some color! But some of the color is red. Yeah, I overdid it in the sun without much sunblock. I figure I’m either going to be Lady Tanskin, or become Captain Melanoma. Either way, I get a cool name and wear a cape.

Oh, by the way….the weekend starts the day after tomorrow. I say we make the 4-day workweek a new industry standard.

I prefer “Mr. S. Kincancer” as I too burn easily.

I went up to Lake City by Cadillac over the weekend. I’m guessing you’ve been there? Great beach!

Keep us posted on the B.O.B. dates. Even though I boycotted that place, I will re-enter their doors to catch your performance.
