You might already know this so I'm not telling it because you don't but just explaining my point of fascination. Israelis are descendents of Abraham's promised covenant with God that he would have a son through his wife Sarah...that son was Issac. But while Abraham and Sarah were waiting for that covenant to take place they got anxious waiting on God so Sarah gave her maid Hagar to Abraham to have a son...who was Ismael. Ismael and Issac never got along. Hagar and Ismael were eventually made to leave Abraham's household. The Palestinians are descendants of Ismael. So, this says a couple things to me about this whole thing: - It's a family feud from Biblical history that has continued into the present. It probably won't end by people just trying to get along...it's going to end when Christ returns. - We need to be very careful if God gives us a command that we obey it because we don't know what kind of trouble we're causing for the future if we don't. - Our behaviors have long and far reaching consequences.
