Would You Like French Strikes With That? (And Other News)
-Looks like there are strikes again in France over the labor law.
When I think of French strikes, I think of mimes and romance aficionados throwing smoked cheese at historic landmarks by candlelight.
-Tom Delay is finally resigning.
It’s about time. Did he just realize that dishonesty, greed, stealing, conspiracy, and illegal money management was not good politics? The even scarier thing was that he won his primary in Texas. Apparently everything IS bigger in Texas–even the mistakes.
-More fighting back and forth between Palestine and Israel.
Hey, here’s an idea. Act like big kids and learn to coexist peacefully with people you may not agree with. That, or evacuate all the women, children, and sensible people. Once those 10 people leave, take one day and have a fight to the death with everyone who’s left.
-What to do about illegal immigrants?
Well, there’s various ideas on the table. I think the guest worker program has some merit, but we’ll see what happens. There are some who would like to see a misdemeanor charge slapped on illegal immigrants. Right. Because coming over from England to America and slaughtering Native Americans is OK, but coming across the border and cleaning toilets is a horrendous affront to our legal sensibilites.
-The democratic representative from Georgia is in trouble. Here’s a quote from cnn.com:
Didn’t we learn this somewhere around kindergarten? If a police officer asks you to stop, you stop. And if a police officer asks you to stop, and you disobey him, and he puts a hand on you, you don’t hit him. You may help make laws, but you’re not above them. Time out for you.
And finally…
-Celebrity news.
When reporting news about celebrities, let’s lose words like “preggers”, a term that sounds stupid, and only serves to make us dumber. And enough with the combining of names: Brangelina, TomKat, etc. That trend is getting stupiculous.
And…scene.

What I find fascinating about the Palenstine vs Israel thing is that it all stemmed from Abraham’s disobedience to God. You might already know this so I’m not telling it because you don’t but just explaining my point of fascination.
Israelis are descendents of Abraham’s promised covenant with God that he would have a son through his wife Sarah…that son was Issac. But while Abraham and Sarah were waiting for that covenant to take place they got anxious waiting on God so Sarah gave her maid Hagar to Abraham to have a son…who was Ismael. Ismael and Issac never got along. Hagar and Ismael were eventually made to leave Abraham’s household. The Palestinians are descendants of Ismael.
So, this says a couple things to me about this whole thing:
- It’s a family feud from Biblical history that has continued into the present. It probably won’t end by people just trying to get along…it’s going to end when Christ returns.
- We need to be very careful if God gives us a command that we obey it because we don’t know what kind of trouble we’re causing for the future if we don’t.
- Our behaviors have long and far reaching consequences.

If it is a family feud, maybe we can get the show Family Feud over there and they can work out their differences that way.
I am sure that Wendy can come up with some kind of skit for that. I can hear the music already.

The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creature that cannot.
